Microsoft Outlook Integration
Attendara integrates with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft 365 calendars via secure OAuth 2.0. The connection works identically to Google Calendar — you keep using Outlook normally, and Attendara handles the rest.
Connecting Microsoft Outlook
- In the Attendara app, go to Settings → Calendars and click Add calendar.
- On the Add calendar page, click Connect new and select Microsoft.
- A Microsoft sign-in window opens. Sign in with your Microsoft account (personal, work, or school).
- Review and accept the permissions. Attendara needs to read your calendar and write category labels back. Click Accept.
- You are redirected back. A dialog asks you to give this Microsoft connection a label (e.g. Office 365) — this is for your own reference.
- Select the Outlook calendar you want Attendara to monitor and save. An initial sync runs immediately.
How sync works with Outlook
- Webhook notifications — Microsoft Graph sends a change notification to Attendara within seconds of you updating your calendar. Attendara then fetches only the changed events.
- Subscription renewal — Microsoft webhook subscriptions expire periodically. Attendara renews them automatically — you don't need to do anything.
- Manual sync — Available from Settings → Calendars by clicking the refresh icon.
Status indicators in Outlook
Attendara uses Outlook Categories to mark confirmed and cancelled appointments. Configure the category names in Sync Settings.
- Confirmed category — Applied to an event when the customer confirms (e.g. Attendara — Confirmed).
- Cancelled category — Applied when the customer cancels (e.g. Attendara — Cancelled).
- Text prefixes — You can also prepend
[Confirmed]or[Cancelled]to the event title.
The category appears as a coloured dot next to the event in Outlook. You choose the colour in your Outlook category settings.
Supported account types
- Personal Microsoft accounts (Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live)
- Microsoft 365 work and school accounts
Reconnecting after expiry
If the connection expires or the Microsoft access token is revoked, the affected calendar will show a red Error chip in Settings → Calendars. Go to Settings → Manage providers and click the reconnect icon next to your Microsoft account to re-authorise without losing any data.
Removing a calendar or provider
- Remove a calendar — Go to Settings → Calendars and click the delete (trash) icon in that calendar's row. Attendara stops monitoring it immediately.
- Remove the Microsoft provider entirely — Go to Settings → Manage providers and click the delete icon next to the Microsoft account. This also removes all calendars registered under that account.
You can also revoke access from your Microsoft account permissions page.
